I’m Rebecca Jackson, founder of Becsta Home Finance, and I’ve been working in the mortgage broking industry since 2008 - including right through the Global Financial Crisis.
I completed my Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management in 2016, but my experience goes far beyond formal qualifications. I started my career as a loan processor and progressed into mortgage broker with Mortgage Choice in 2008, then moved under the guidance of some of the most respected professionals in Australian finance. One of my key mentors has been Rolf Latham, Principal Broker of ASAP Financial, who has owned and operated his business since 1999 and is widely regarded as one of Australia’s leading investment-focused mortgage brokers. I’ve worked alongside Rolf since 2011, learning not only the technical side of lending, but the importance of integrity, long-term strategy, and always putting clients first.
My journey into finance was also shaped by my extraordinary brother, Gavin,
a highly successful mortgage broker who owned two franchises in Melbourne and consistently received industry awards. He believed mortgage broking was never just about banks or numbers, but about people, education, and helping clients build better lives. That belief still guides how I work today.
Alongside my professional experience, I’ve lived this journey personally. I bought my first home with my husband in 2007, upgraded to our family home in Burleigh Waters on the Gold Coast in 2013, and purchased our first investment property in 2016. Our next goal is stepping into the commercial property space together.
I’m a born-and-bred Gold Coaster, a long-time Titans member, and a Commissioner for Declarations, meaning I can assist with statutory declarations and ID witnessing as part of your finance journey.
When I’m not helping clients, you’ll usually find me walking our cattle dog on the beach, enjoying local live music, spending time with my husband and two teenagers, or planning our next adventure, whether that’s caravanning or travelling somewhere new.
After losing my brother to a sudden heart attack in 2019, his belief stayed with me even more strongly: finance should be human, honest, and empowering. That belief sits at the heart of everything I do at Becsta Home Finance.
